Permits

Building permits are required for new home construction, home repairs, remodeling, pond construction, pole barns, decks, etc.  A building permit is required to promote and safeguard the public health, safety, and general welfare of the community.  If you are unsure whether or not a permit is required, please contact our Building Inspector. Demolition permits are required for removal of structures.

Prior to applying for a permit for an outside addition or new construction, you must have approval from the Eaton-Barry health Department, Environmental Health Unit. Their telephone number is 517-541-2615.
